I’m interested in purchasing a 30-ton mini deck from Fontaine, but I see a Transmaster mini deck parked at Landstar’s Rockford yard quite often. It looks like a solid trailer and has what looks like some useful features. I thought I’d ask if any of you have experience with this manufacturer. It’s the only one I can ever recall seeing. Thanks.

There is a Landstar guy on this forum that has a Transmaster mini deck. Whether he wishes to answer your questions, I don’t know. @Old Man is his handle and I have never met him.

Very high quality, I designed that trailer and mine, only 2 like them in the country.
Call Ray Diemer and he’ll hook you up.

Their plant is only a few miles from the Petro in Carlisle, PA
Fontaine is way better than XL.

That trailer looks like a whole bunch of fun to me. But we don’t spec anything cool trailer wise here. Just plane Jane off the dealer lot trailers.

Wow! Thanks! 9” loaded deck height. That’s impressive. I’ll give Ray a call in the near future.

They call it a 10” trailer. It can be fun withe load so close to the ground.

Pretty cool that you can put a piece of freight on that’s 12’8” and still be legal.

I wish I could remember the dealer in north Texas, they have 2 10" deck height trailers....... I wanted it but, I ended up getting a 12" mini deck w/34 in the well. Ive heard good things of Transmaster.... stay away from XL.....

After what OldMan said and the advice I received from another OwnerOp that pulls a mini deck here at Landstar, I will definitely stay away from the XL trailers.

Get a 10” xl and it will be 17” empty at crown , add 35,000 and you might get to 10”.
For general freight a Fontaine 12” has less crown and easier to get to 12”, and much easier to load when detached. No hump.
