I've not been asked for a copy of my prescription before. But CFR 391.41 says you have to have 20/40 measured on an standard Snellen test to be qualified to drive. A carrier can pretty much ask for anything to verify that you are qualified to operate a cmv.

Never been asked over 2 companies and several medicals and I wear bifocals. Why would they? If you've got a medical card you passed. That's all they need to know.

I doubt they would know how to read the prescription. I would also think it would be a violation of privacy, while glasses are not a "sensitive" medical matter, it opens the door to your employer having access to other medical information that they are not qualified to interpret.

Thank you! I wanted to ask a recruiter, but I was worried that might trigger something.
