Hope you're having a great day. I'm a proud trucker wife who is starting to get nervous. My hubby had a face-to-face interview with Cardinal Logistics 19 days ago and we have heard nothing by phone, mail nor email. He said that the interview seemed to go very well and the recruiter mentioned that he had to forward everything to corporate and that background checks take two weeks. He did leave a voicemail for the recruiter on day 14. I am wondering if trucking companies bother to send rejection letters or postcards.
Hubby's MVR and criminal history is immaculate. DAC (Hire Right) shows 2 DOT non-reportables; a "Misc. Incident" which in reality is a deer and "Right Turn" which if was slight damage to a stop sign, no injury/damage to truck - both from 2006.
Swift has him down on the DAC as Resigned/Quit, Review required for rehire and for some strange reason Work Record says "No Show" even though hubby sees no reason why it should state this. Would this be an automatic reason not to hire a driver or would they call to ask about this given that everything else was in order? Heartland Express stalked my husband to come work for them for months after he applied so I can't imagine that this is a big deal. He currently works for them and is in good standing.
So, what do you feel is going on? Am I jumping the gun in thinking that he might be out of the running? We have two children under two and need an opportunity in AZ where he can see us 4+ days out of the week - any schedule.
Thank you kindly for your time.

Well if he is working for Heartland and has a clean mvr since the "incidents" in 2006 he should be ok. As far as the dac no show thing he can dispute that at no charge to him and dac will look into it. Only time will tell. As far as a thanx but no thanx letter, some companies will do that some wont, just a luck of the draw really. Don't start fretting yet, give it time but if he hasn't heard from them in a couple of weeks he should call them

The squeaky wheel gets the grease; start calling and asking what's going on. At least every other day if not daily. my $0.02

The recruiter isn't answering phone calls. We put apps to 7 different local/regional almost home daily companies and Cardinal was the only one that has called at all. Ironically, it seems like the best opportunity too.
kickin chicken Thanks this. -
Lack of response to applications seems to be true regardless of the type job or industry nowadays. HR departments either just don´t seem to care or maybe are too overwhelmed by the number of appicants to really respond. Always good to follow up if possible.

After over 200 applications I only received by snail mail 2 thanks but no thanks letters and 2 emails! Just keep calling them at least 2 times a week so they know you are interested about a job with them.
Also go to Hireright's web site and fill out a rebuttal on your DAC report. Hire Right is what DAC is going by this year! -
Honestly, I wish they all would send something. I think the closest I've gotten has been a copy of my DAC. And that's only happened twice. Once from Falcon when I got my CDL in '05 and just yesteday from Horizon Transport, a driveaway co. Horizon was also nice enough to send an email too' but that's about all I've ever gotten.
The worst is when you've talked to someone a few times, thinking you finally found a company, answered their questions, and then never here from them again. I have dealt with that at least 6 times in the last few months of looking and applying. -

I just wanted to add that I got a rejection letter from Horizon a couple days ago.
And sorry for the double post. -
You could contact Quality in Goshen, In, they hire many with no experience.
