Driving right at the limit makes you stick out, if you ask me it screams, don't pull me over please you'll find out I'm hauling drugs, drunk, high or whatever, but I also can't drive 55 without feeling like I'm falling asleep so take it with a grain of salt, or a cup whatever.

Have you ever driven in California or are you still stuck in Texas?

One thing I learned many moons ago. DON"T make GENERAL comments about LAW or DOT enforcement officers. Those that do generally find themselves eating said words. You might run 80 MPH on I 10 in Riverside County 364 days a year. Then you run into that one officer on that one day that will be there and make a case. I can't tell you how many times I have seen this happen. ME? When I was in California (as well as the other split speed states) I generally hung around 60, maybe 63.

I knew a driver that got a citation for going 57 south on I-15 by the cajon scales. He told the cop he’s been driving between 55 and 60 for 45 plus years and never gotten pulled over. The CHP replied, you been breaking the law all those years. Your number finally came up.

I've never driven in Cali and don't want to either. You go to Iowa and all the 2 lanes are 55 and they will pull you over and write a ticket at 61 or 62, they'll also pull you over for no seatbelt and about anything else they can. I don't get to Texas enough but I could get real used to their 75 speed limit.

I have seen mostly local Texas cops sitting on overpasses and other high places with binoculars looking for drivers not wearing seat belts. I also want to remember seeing an Oklahoma cop doing it too.

More states need to be like south dakota, they can't pull you over for just a seatbelt they can you write a ticket for it if they pull you for speeding.

All comes down to situational awareness, you have to pay attention.

It's called a secondary violation. Only problem with that is a cop can be in a state with a secondary violation law and you can still get a seat belt ticket because the officer pulled you over for "weaving". My home state of Georgia was such a state for several years. I had a State trooper tell me it did not matter to him if it was a primary or secondary violation. If he seen you not wearing a belt he was going to stop you.

Well I'm convinced some officers were bullied in school and now are taking it out on the general public, I know few that are that way, one tried to buy a house from somebody and the owner said when hell freezes over.
