Not meaning to hijack the thread but this is one reason I keep hammering home the point that you SHOULD NEVER answer a cops questions. Even as a trucker. A DOT cop asks about your logs tell em you make no comments about the log. No point in being a dick or being rude, just polity tell said cop you had rather remain silent. Some cops will do a chicken dance all around you and make all kinds of threats about gitmo etc etc and might even call you a terrorist. Ignore them. Stay silent follow the cops instructions otherwise and if everything is otherwise OK you should leave with your virginity intact! Answer a bunch of gotcha questions designed to entrap you and you might find out the hard way just how much you should have stayed quiet. For the record. Cops take classes and they practice on each other how to do these gotcha questions.

Huh? If hes in the hammer lane, what lane are you in? The driver taking a picture lane in a cmv? I heard they were starting that lane soon. Ahhh. Just playing.

No but seriously, taking a picture of werner while driving? This is why we will not be able to say cars cause most accidents involving trucks. Because people driving trucks like this.

Depends on their question whether or not I answer it, the logbook speaks for itself. A little sidenote, your bills apparently don't work to prove you've been parked for 10 hours or more but would incriminate you immediately if they proved you didnt.

I usually go 60. Never been bothered.
I won't admit to going faster.
    I wouldn't go over 62 consistently.

There is plenty of ####### drivers going 70-75..

If your running "hot" yes there is supporting stuff that can trip you up. However i still contend drivers should not help these guys hang you.

For the record...... I drive on the average 65-70 in my hometown So-Cal all day long. Never had an issue. But I keep my eyes open 360. I had a few sneak up on me and just backed off and of they went. I even had one get on the P.A. and told me to slow it down, was going 60 on that one. I think the bears feast on out of state trucks cuz they won’t come back to fight it. They leave is local boys do as we please. So keep the hammer down out of staters..... :D

They usually don't need much help with that from my experience, I have literally gotten an exhibition driving ticket for my tires spinning on loose sand after the ice melted, if they want to give you a ticket they don't need help.

Back in the spring of 2013 I was in the process of moving to where I live at now. I was still driving then (non CDL vehicles). I was stopped by a South Carolina State Trooper that was being a dick. I spoke to him nicely and notified him of my desire to stay quiet. I gave him my Drivers License, my vehicle registration as well as my proof of Insurance and he ran my "stuff" and it came back OK. However this cop was determined to find out what my destination was. I mean he told all the heck he could call down on me. I stood quietly at the back on my pickup while he walked around waiting on another "unit" to come. He kept up calling out places in NC. I was about 5 miles from the SC/NC line on I 85. he walked over to where I stood and said because I had a CDL I was using a Federal License and MUST tell him where I was going. Honestly I was polite and said sir and used the word respectfully too. The 2nd unit had a dog. The dog did not alert and was took back to the car. After about 10 minutes the cop told me that i was speeding. ( I was not) My headlights were out ( they were working perfectly.) there was a problem with my registration ( only problem was the man could not read.) and my muffler was defective. ( that he had me dead to rights.) Cops on fishing expeditions with out of state vehicles love to do that crap. By staying quiet I did not allow the cop to start that script and this took him off his game. The guy finally gave up cited me for the muffler and left. I would NOT change a thing about my actions that day.

I’ve never let them catch up to me and tell me what they think about the speed limit in California.

That said... I was doing 72 through there in the 3rd lane of 5 and got lit up. It was 700 dollars for being in the third lane and the DOT ####### said “slow down”.
