Golf is a sport, unless you suck at it, then it's a game.

I think the OP is just suffering from emotional and psychological trauma do to being disillusioned from thinking that all the super trucker hero's could drive.
Reality does that to a man.

View attachment 233049 You know backing up is what van drivers have to take pride in. It’s how they show their skills after grueling hours of door opening and tandem sliding.

But on the contrary, flat bed drivers beyond the tmc, Melton, Boyd bros and etc see all sorts of coal mines, weird blind side warehouse doors, back ups from Busy 4 lane roads in metro areas. Rarely ever do these guys see distribution centers. The Melton guys and them do, but this is not the other side of it.

We also are required every 150 miles or 3 hours to log securement checks. So if you see someone parked a little crooked at a rest area or somewhere he’s probably just loggin and leaving. But many times we don’t back at all, I just come from a van n reefer background

It's definitely a game for me then, but I enjoy sucking at it.

Oh Dave, Golf is not a game or sport. We must begin your reeducation immediately. You must go to a golf course near you now and prepare to start learning the first and only important aspects of golf.

Golf is an excuse to go outside.
Golf is an excuse to hang out with best freinds
Golf is an excuse to drink beer, lots of beer.
Golf is an excuse to get out of the honey do list.

I have only ever driven flatbed and stepdeck with spread axles except for when I had to do a road test for the company I am currently with. When road test time came they only had a dry van trailer available so I hooked up to that. At the end the instructor had me back in between a couple trailers in a fairly tight space. Nothing too difficult really. I got it in there no problem and he said that was the best he had ever seen it done by a new driver to this company. Honestly, after backing a spread axle doing a tandem axle is easy.

90% of the people that play can't break 100 on a regulation course. I played bogey golf. When I played a lot, high 80's.
You need good eyes to be a good golfer.

    Feedman and Oxbow Thank this.
