So I am in loredo and I guess once you get you its a good chance you will every get out. I came here thursday and was stuck cause the consignee wasn't open till Monday. I took the load and was told to head back to terminal to wait for a load. I've been sitting since. And its now Tuesday. Without telling you who my company is "light blue trucks" how do I know I will get paid for sitting. I've only done one load this week! How do they expect me to pay my bills or feed myself!?
Do I get paid for this? What do I do.

You get layover, at a Meer $30 a day

Make sure you send in a request for layover pay. Let them know somebody "owes you". If this sort of thing happens routinely and they don't work to make it right the best they can, then you need to be looking at options if you've been driving long enough to move on. Laredo, for some carriers is a pit of know return. Many drivers have gone into Laredo, never to be seen or heard from again (in a trucking context). Sounds like your carrier may be one of those who simply doesn't have the required connections to get in/out of Laredo in a timely manner. May well happen next time too, if there is a next time for you.

Well I guess how it works when I enter lorado the dispatchers here take over. They keep telling me to talk to your dispatch about that. I'm so confused. Also they don't ever answer my request for avail or my layover requests. I haven't drove long I've been with this company for about 6 months. This is my first real job I guess. So when it comes to applying for other companies I don't want to put I only had part time seasonal jobs since high school (I'm 23). Instead of putting them I just put unemployed and if its brought up I usually bring it up along with check stubs to show at least I'm really working

Well, are you still in Laredo? Get a load out? If so, when? How'd it turn out, in other words?
-
Man those companies get big money to go to Laredo. Make sure u get yours

When I worked for the same company, I would get stuck there for about a week. Sometimes they would give a couple of shags. Usually after a week i would be deadheaded to a different area.
