Asking a "trucker" forum for advice for being physically assaulted VS Asking a lawyer.

    You decide i guess.

as a victim, they don't need a lawyer.

They need a police report taken so that the district attorney can address the charges. Getting a lawyer for them will do nothing.

The district attornies office that is handling the case will have a victim advocate that will assist them with any issues as far as a restraining or protection order depending on the jurisdiction they live in or that this occurred in.

yeah, no point calling a lawyer.. this is a criminal issue not a civil issue.

Hi I know I keep having typos etc. I just feel like I have no legal rights to do anything about this. This team driver started talking strange stuff and acting creepy then starts beating me up etc and threw me out of the truck and I have been calling sheriffs etc and so far being told told like I have to put up with this crazy Guy trying to kill me and that's that. I don't understand this like what he did is fine and I'm just supposed to accept it.

no, what he did is NOT fine. you need to get in touch with the district attornies office and find the local victim advocate. Screw dealing with the sheriff.

If you had your location listed or where this happened, I might be able to help you find that information.

did this occur on a federal highway? Call the State Police? State Police trump po-dunk Sheriffs.
