So tomorrow I may be picking up a container containing 330lbs of used motor oil on my flat bed. I can't remember and can find whether its anything over 1000 lbs or 1000 gal triggers needing an endorsment and placards.
Do I need a Hazmat endorsment?

If you don't have HM on your CDL then your company won't give you a HM load. But if you're in doubt then ask your company.

My company just might lol. I ment to say 330 gal. It's our oil going from one of our yards in OK to another in OK.

I would ask your company just to be on the safe side.

On further research motor oil is not hazmat, you can haul all you want

Cool. Thanks chris. I started to study at one time to get my hazmat and said F this I'll take the lower pay and less headache.

I believe used motor oil is classified is a hazardous waste material, which needs to be 1,001 lbs or more to require placards.

Lbs or gallons?
Lately I'm hauling HazMat and to go through the tunnels on the PA TPK materials I haul have to be in "Non-Bulk Packaging" which is less than 118 gallons or 884 lbs. per package
I don't have my table handy but I believe the used oil would be combustible, not flammable. Doesn't matter if it's less than 1000 lbs, but if the container holds 118 gals. or more, then you may need an endorsement and placards. You would need shipping papers to show what the material is and if the container holds more than the aforementioned gals., then how much exactly is in there? Follow?
You need to know what it is, how much there is and some docs from shipper. You can look up particulars online or get a handbook at your DMV. Hope this helps.
