I just bought mu truck International PROSTAR 44 days ago. It runs exactly 14 days, the rest (31) was in a shop (she still is). The dealer wants to wash his hands, when I asked him to switch for another truck, he told me that it will be treated as trade in and I will lose a lot of money. I already did lose a lot of money, and I still don't know when this truck will be ready to go, and how long she will run without another problem. All the problems are connected with egr and sensors, right now they told me that after cleaning, DPF failed the test. What is next, what I'm supposed to do ?
Do I need an attorney ?

You could mention to the dealer you are speaking with a lawyer and see if that changes their tune. A lot of people dont want to deal with a lawsuit and he may be more willing to help even if you just mention it. I would suggest not doing it in a threatening way, as people seem to be more helpful when your nice (even if the guy is screwing you)

I got the dealer one month warranty, but I had my brake down one day before this warranty expires. I have extended warranty (one year or 100.000 miles from National truck insurance, thay agree to pay for some works, but that is not all. I spend 2000 $ for towing, 800 $ for hotels, 1300 $ for 4 used tires because someone stole 4 new outside tires when truck was in the shop first time in Roberts Wichita, KS, and trailer was parked in front of the shop. I had to came back to Florida over the weekend, because dealer send wrong VIN no to DMV, so I was supposed to fix it. I rent a car and came back, dealer gave me 800 $ for this, he was very rude i he said he don't have to pay me anything, because they don't pay for incidents, and that was like "incident". By the way, that "incident" cost me over 1300 $, but who cares, he gave me only 800 $. Very next day, I had a problem with a shifter, so I call on road service, who screw two screws, that cost me another 160 $. Two days after that, the top of the sifter explode in my hand, 60 miles before Bristol, VA. Another 600 $ towing, then broker make me tow the trailer 70 miles back where he find a dock to move the load from mine trailer to another one. Another 700 $ towing, 400 $ for 3 days in hotel for me and my team mate. We barely make it to Laredo Tx, and on my request to Florida, from Tallahasse to Tampa (270 miles) we drove over 10 hours. Yes, I read technical discussion about EGR and DPF problems, but I'm not technical educated and don't know how to help myself. I'm praying The God not for me and my wellbeing any more, but for my truck, that's drive me crazy.

I don't know what to tell you then. I (almost every operator out here) know those particular year model ISX's are notorious for eating small operations alive and putting them out of business. Especially when you're so reliant on dealers. And dealers seem to all have this attitude of they're going to rape you for every dollar they can replacing expensive components that aren't the true problem yet that's just what they always do. It's a vicious cycle. One thing about owning a truck if you are not willing at all to at least try and do some things for yourself you're going to have one heckuva a time ever keeping any money in your pocket. Sometimes there are things that a person simply doesn't have the tools or proper knowledge and that is what it is but you gotta try. There are videos in that discussion that show step by step specifically how to, what to, all sorts of good information in there plus guys willing to answer questions also. It's just a matter of diving in. Honestly the routine maintinence parts of it, what to check, what to replace and or clean regularly, look no more difficult than changing oil to me.
I know we have an operator with one of thesze engines going thru a lot of headaches right now. Hasn't had the truck long. The dealer has agreed to, from what I understand, pretty much install a crate motor in their truck. I don't know how they talked them into that or what the details are, or if they involved a lawyer. Someone did tell you right on one thing, and I know this is difficult when the stress is on, but you will get more out of these dealer types when you try and play nice. The flip side of that is you HAVE to educate yourself. Even if you're not going to turn any wrenches you need to have some basic understanding or everyone out there will take adavantage of your misfortune. -
Thank you rollin for your opinion and I agree, but I can't communicate with the dealer after he was so rude. I think, after buying something for 51,500 $ I'm suppose to drive this truck and earn some money for at least 6 months, not to have trouble the very first day I own it. This guy just kick me out the first time I ask for some help and it was because they sent the wrong VIN no to DMV and I rent a car and come back from Wichita, KS to Tampa, Fl. As I said already, I went to dealership, Mr. Tom Moore look at my expencces and said he will pay 800 $, I told him that much cost my coming to Tampa, but I have to go back and that cost, he was so rude and angry, he told me I don't have to pay you anything, and if you will be angry, I won't. You right that I have to learn more about the truck and how to treat it, but this egr and dpf things are all about sensors and electronick and I really don't know what to do about that. And, when I brake down on the road how do you think I'll watch the video or try to find the answers on internet? Thank you ..

You see those trucks for sale in some trucking companies used fleet truck lots and they are newer than the trucks they keep in the fleet. The reason is they are too expensive to operate because of breakdowns. If a large or medium carrier can't afford maintenance on those trucks, then a single truck operation or small carrier sure can't.
