As I stated, not my truck, not my problem, don’t care about PSP thingy so I think it’ll work out just fine for me. I’m not disputing whether we need it or not. Merely repeated what I’d been told by owner of the truck. His problem if I get stopped. Stop shooting the messenger.
Would you like his contact info? You can share it with Prof. noticer

I'm glad there's guys like you and your boss on the road. With all that low hanging fruit for the DOT to pick from it keeps me off their radar. You guys rock.

You assume much. Truck is in fine mechanical shape. Haven’t had a ticket in over 23 years. Haven’t had an out of service violation during an inspection in same time. No nanny crap on the trucks. He has it in his mind he doesn’t need the silly hut sticker from the commie state of New York, that’s a him thing. So I’ll keep truckin the way I’ve done for the last 30 years and you’re right, we do rock.

Time for you to go on ignore list. You’re comprehension skills are week and I’ve seen no indication you have anything constructive to add to threads. You seem very trollish. Goodbye

Not having your HUT sticker near your front tag is low hanging fruit. If you've been a company driver as long as you claim you'd know right well DOT goes for the easy openly obviously stuff like that. Your contribution to this thread was literally worthless. Why are you even posting in the OWNER OPERATOR section answering questions with false information? I'll be adding you to my list as well. Have a good day.Last edited by a moderator: Aug 19, 2021

Pretty hostile aint ya?.... What the heck, not my problem either, just don't like to see misinformation put out there and see someone get jammed over it. On the flip side, if I'm wrong about something, I'll own it and apologize for it, but I digress... Oh BTW, the next door commie constipation State likes the revenue New Yuck rakes in with HUT, so they've decided to implement their own version of it. I figure Taxachusetts will follow shortly too....ProfessionalNoticer Thanks this.

If you enter the state of NY you need a HUT permit. Toll roads are excluded however. So how I understand the law is if you are driving straight through the state on a toll road it is not need. But if you exit the through way you would need a HUT permit. And of course you can't deliver or pick up with out oneLast edited: Aug 19, 2021

Further research revealed that NYS toll road miles are exempt miles from IFTA and HUT computation.
An Introduction to Highway Use Tax (ny.gov)
However, the only vehicles exempt from obtaining HUT registration are listed below, note there is no exception for just operating on NY toll roads:
Excluded and Exempt Vehicles - Highway Use Tax (ny.gov)
Non excluded and exempt vehicles are not relieved from obtaining NY HUT registration, there just would be no revenue paid to NYS if only operated on the toll roads...ProfessionalNoticer Thanks this. -

I seems it can be a little confusing. I have one, but only run NY when they offer me a lot of money.
