Rule of thumb- keep all truck and business expenses seprate and keep a good file system. IRS and State can and do audit any time and go back as far as they want if they find irregularity. 2- what ever you make , pay the IRS there quarterly estimate, and your state also. Remember if someone handsyou a check and/ or pays you for the job, it is income and taxable. A good CPA or accountent can really save you time and effort years later
