I got the certificate as well. It's like a reduced photocopy of the larger form. They told us at my CDL school we needed to have it with us at all times and to keep it in our wallet w/ our permit / license. Since it's just a piece of paper I went to Office Depot and got this:

Office Depot Brand Adhesive Business Card Pockets Pack Of 10 - Office Depot

It's just a little plastic pouch w/ adhesive on one side. I folded my med certificate up and then stuck on the back of my permit card and will do the same when I get my actual license. Needed to cut it down a little bit so it would fit in my wallet but overall it works pretty well.

Just out of curiosity when you get stopped do officers often ask to see the med card along w/ all the info you need to hand over?

They want it at inspections too.I think they are checking to make sure it's same as what's on file.

I also keep it in my wallet. If its kept in the truck that goes awol for what ever reason, how will you prove that you are medically fit if the DOT asks you for the card?

Interesting. Here in Western Canada they won't even issue you your commercial license without proof of a medical. So all we carry is the license card.

Last time I had a DOT inspection I asked if he wanted my medical card.
He told me it would be with the info he would pull up on the computer from my driver's license.
But I carry the wallet card with my license.

California used to have the green wallet sized medical card that you used to have to keep on you, but they did away with that a few years ago.

I haven't kept any medical card on me in a while. Last time I applied for a job I had to show proof of my medical on my driving record.
Last time I went through an inspection station DOT just ran my cdl and everything was good

    Oxbow Thanks this.
