I was a temporary 1099 "company driver" for about 8 months. There were ZERO deductions unless you like to play fast and loose with the IRS? If you don't have full control of the operation of that truck you are missclassified. In my case the truck only moved whenever I said it did. Nobody called asking why the truck wasn't moving if I was off for a few days, or weeks. The freight that got booked on it was all done by me or it didn't move at all.
I dunno where you can find someone willing to trust you with that kind of operational control over their equipment, but good luck in your search. I had it, but I also had 12+ years of running my own truck behind me before I did it. You just got a CDL and don't know #### about trucking. Maybe you should just buy your own truck if you're looking for some expenses to deduct? I can guarantee you'll have plenty of deductions if you do, lol.
Do most trucking jobs allow you to work using an LLC?
