I was going to do it as a relief driver with a team back in the mid '90's whenever they went to the tracks out west but the ex put the kibosh on it......what was I thinking? Lost both ways, now I have an ex and no NASCAR driving job. If you don't know somebody you can pretty much forget about it, at least that was my experience back then.

I live in Charlotte and I worked NASCAR. It's all about who you know although I have seen ads on Craigslist for hauler drivers. Best bet is to start out with a touring series or regional team as a crewmember.

It is all about who you know. Although, two years ago I did see an ad for a transporter driver the #38 car in the Sprint Cup Series at the time. I also live near ThorSport Motorsports in Ohio, which is a top tier NASCAR truck series team, they were also hiring a few years back but I didn't inquire.

Another driver I work with drove for an IRL team for Alex Tagliani for about 5 years, pulled in about 75k a year with a ton of perks.

Like every cool job it's all about being at the right place at the right time and if the stars are all aligned, being recommended by the right person.
So my suggestion to you is look for where that right place and time might be and don't leave any burned bridges behind.

I was being serious, I went to one of the races over at his track he bought in western Ohio called Eldora, it's only 45 minutes from my home. I had pit pass and seriously asked the driver of one of his team's haulers, he laughed so #### hard he chocked on his hot dog

I come out there every year for the World 100. Stay in New Paris behind the Petro there. Been to several other races including the Million to win one in '01. We just make the World our regular one every year. Love it out there that time of year!

If you know somebody yes. When I went to cdl
School my motel roommate was sent there to get his
Cdl from mark martins NASCAR team.
He had a family member on the crew.

I went to Pam transport, he went to Daytona. Lol.

They have that big race every year with everyone that comes up, all the big players, Stewart and Johnson really go at it in their outlaws
