I know the fella who drives Dale Jr's hauler. His name is Andy and I don't know if he currently still drives it but he's a pretty nice guy. He said it has good pay and benefits

I have two trucks contracted for this and the 2018 season for one team, they take their transportation seriously. I won't mention who the team is but they are well known.

The cost of these cars, the parts and the supporting equipment is not basic garage stuff and the drivers do more than just drive.

If you want to break into it, you got to know someone. You got to do more than just think it is a simple glamours job, it isn't, it is a lot of work.

I talked to a guy in NH. He said it sucks. Well, it's good but he never gets to actually watch a race. He's either sleeping while the race goes on or he's getting all the radios, headsets, this and that all together and then packing it back up after the race is done. Not something I'd want responsibility for.

Plus, everybody has they're favorite snacks, meals, drinks and you get to go grocery shopping for everybody and stock the hauler and then after you get back from the race you get to clean up everybody's mess. Then you get to wash the hauler and everything that was brought up in the previous post you get to take it and get it fixed if something isn't working right. Resupply all the drawers with all the little nit-noid things that are used during the race weekend, keep the truck serviced and get fixed what needs fixin and a ton of other things I can't remember right now. In other words, your just as busy during the week as you are on the weekends.

It probably is as I suspect, guys think they will be driving the truck, getting all the girls, and hanging out with the car drivers. It's probably just hard work and none of the glamour.

On a similar note, living close to Nashville, I've been involved in some big country music acts. The glamour and fame wears off pretty quick when you get down to it.

I know several tour bus drivers, it's not a life I'd care to have.
