Okay, now you're speaking my language. I go to Eldora every year, and started going with my dad when I was 2. Sprint cars are my thing.

Dirt is for racing. Pavement is for getting there.

Been there, done that, it was before the PBR really got big though. It didn't take me long to get my fill and move on. It was actually a friend of a friend that owned a rodeo production company and was short on trucks. I pulled their trailer and just worked part time on it, mostly over the weekends.

You'd be amazed at how well the bulls and such acted loading, unloading, and hauling. I guess they got hauled so much, they just got used to it. Most of the bulls were almost as gentle as a puppy during transport and other working, but when they got in the bucking chute, their whole attitude changed. It was as if they knew what their job was and knew when it was time to relax.

We're Late Model fans. When I lived back east we traveled all over watching races. I like the speed of the sprinters just would rather watch Late Models or even Big Block Modifieds. Did you get to go to Bristol when they put dirt on the track?

Nope, but someone put up the footage of that race on YouTube, which I watched. What amazed me is that the sprint cars on dirt were a 1 second faster than the Nascar cars were on the pavement. I guess Bristol with dirt on it was a lot like Eldora.

We went for both races it was unbelievable. The Late Models were faster than NASCAR too, or so they said, I forget what the times were but they were flying around there. I had heard that will never happen again, the dirt, it wasn't so much getting it put down it was getting it cleaned up I guess was a major PIA, awesome venue though for a dirt track race. Have you been to any of the NASCAR truck races at Eldora?

The whole Nascar thing is like trucking in general .
The picture you see is not the life that you live.

Now you do get allot of notice when you pull this trailer

The fun stops when you get here though.

There is allot that goes into putting on a show like Nascar week in and week out that the general public doesn't know or think about .
The old saying that time is money is a hard fast rule in a job where every week is another show .

I hope I did the pics right it's been awhile since I posted any LOL .

That's awesome you got to go. I can't imagine what that cleanup was like. I think I heard it was hundreds of dump truck loads of dirt to make that happen.

I haven't been to the Eldora Nascar races, though I've always wanted to. I just go to so many races each year already that I couldn't really justify it. My favorite young driver to move up to Nascar from the dirt world is Kyle Larson. I was lucky to watch him race in World of Outlaws, All Stars, and USAC sprint and midget races. He's one guy who really knows his way around Eldora.

One of these days I'm going to make it up to the Chili Bowl, it's just an hour and a half from me. It's just so stinkin expensive and I don't have my racin bud to go with me, he's out in Delaware.

Yep, Chili Bowl is on my bucket list. I can't imagine how much those tickets are. I'm a big fan of Rico Abreu - I was glad to see him win it last year.

I'm fortunate to live in Columbus, OH, so some of the best dirt tracks in the world are only a couple hours away. One place I did travel to that was pretty cool was Charlotte, for the World of Outlaws World Finals. It was cool to be able to see the best sprint cars, late models, and big block modifieds all in one weekend.
