    Mc-Nally.
I just went on their site, and 2018 spiral bound Atlas is on sale at $39.95, didn't check Amazon yet.
I Wondered why there are zero reviews; too new?

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

Don't worry about reviews for that atlas.

Use every tool at your disposal. But don't rely on any of them. Allways have a backup plan and allways pay attention to road signs and conditions.

Hurry up and get your CDL. There’s a ramp just like that waiting for you. :)

A GPS wouldn't help there. That wasn't the wrong route but wrong driving. He should have split the turn and travel lane, taken both. Assuming he didn't see that until too late he should have pulled back in the travel lane and continued on. Counting the turn lane there's 3 lanes, the only reason to not be able to make that turn is failed to set up for it.

when I started driving (long haul) we didn't have cell phones, nor satellite communication like Qualcomm, but that was actually coming sooner than anyone knew,

well for the most part, OTR. yes, many times someone in the barn if doing local will help. BUT many times too, I have heard those very same drivers say to the newbie..."get a map"

after a while, many get sick and tired of the constant directions.

When you come from a goat herding tradition and you only have 3 weeks of life in a modern industrial country with heavy machinery everywhere MANY things are not so clear and obvious. Diversity is our strength.

Some drivers will ignore any and all help whether it's GPS, Qualcomm, or other drivers. When anxiety and panic set in some people cannot be helped even if you surround them with people in orange vests and paint lines on the ground. I've had drivers I tell to follow me suddenly veer off on an exit ramp and go their own way. We were going to the same place and they had to find a way to screw up. You can't want to help more than someone wants to be helped. That's why there are drug addicts.

I just finished school and they taught us trip planning with an atlas. It wasn't in depth but an atlas is 99.9% accurate.

Never rely on a gps and dispatched route. Always confirm the dispatched route with the atlas.

I know the atlas is a pain in the ### but I'm sure it's a lot less of pain vs getting stuck down a road with no way out.
