In the mail Tuesday I received the replacement iPhone 12 from Apple Care. Apple replaced that iPhone and did NOT charge us a cent. YES, I had to give them my credit card info to cover the phone until I send the bad phone back. We actually got the bad phone in the mail before we got the new phone. I don't get into debates about carriers because all of them can be Richards depending on where you are and what store you are dealing with. To be fair I know of some situations where Apple has treated folks badly. This is why I refuse to use their laptops. I have had dealings with Apple several times over the years. I never felt like I was screwed over.

One more point. For you that use Twitter. Here is a hint. Last year I had an issue with a local chain store. I found their official Twitter page and sent a tweet with their Twitter handle along with @ShieldVoC and by the end of that day that store responded. We communicated via DMs and I got my issue resolved.

Oh, one more point. As I said, Apple will want a payment means before they will send out a replacement phone first. If you do not have a payment means Apple will send you a box and you can send in the bad phone first. Once Apple gets the phone the replacement phone is on its way. This is also how Samsung does it too. In the case of Keri's iPhone 12, I had rather have handled it at the Apple Store in Virginia Beach. The exchange would have taken a few minutes. The problem is because of Covid you have to have an appointment.

Now I understand that as truckers this process of waiting sucks. This is why a trucker should try to get a backup phone. If your primary phone goes bad, you have a backup to use while getting the primary either fixed or replaced.

We paid NOTHING. Those fees are for customer damage. This phone was defective it was a straight warranty replacement. I had to pay somewhere around $60 to get my iPhone 8 battery replaced.

I was naive to think I could depend on apple. Even though I had a backup that was shut down with 3g shutdown 3 months earlier. Thought I could get a replacement overnight from apple while on the road. Pilot etc. receives packages/mail for drivers. No way in hell.

Let me add a small proviso to my above comment. The Apple agent I spoke to went over a lot of things. He made it clear that if they get the phone and tech later determines it was damaged by us, we will have to pay that fee to get the phone back. We never heard back.

That is an up front fee to ship you a phone exchange. Anybody here can go to the apple site and see it. You’re lying to us.

I'm sorry you have had problems with Apple. I know several others that have as well. I just know Apple has treated me well and has done everything they said they would do. In the end, my personal experience is all I can go by.

    WesternPlains Thanks this.

Apple Care doesn’t care if it’s warranty, defective, lost, stolen, etc. It’s all the same to apple care.
