I worked for these scam artists, and have never seen a dime from them. They insist that you run illegally. Sure, you can get 3600 miles a week from them, 800 miles at a time. Any trucker knows that you can't do that legally. If you refuse to run two sets of books, watch out! 1099?? They will tell you that you have to start an "S Corporation" to get paid. Good luck getting back home to file for a corporation. When you sign your 20-page "Agreement", make sure and note all of the penalties they can (and do) assess you. They'll say you were late delivering when you're not, late picking up when you're not, that they'll reimburse you for scale charges and tolls (they won't), and pretty much just keep stringing you along until you quit. Then the "penalties" REALLY add up. When you file with IL for wages, they'll tell you that they will "Write them a letter requesting payment" and that's the last you'll hear from them.

Stop driving for these 1099 fly by night outfits people! We mainly have ourselves to blame to giving our driving services to these scumbags.Florida Bound Thanks this. -
RoadRunner64, we regret that your experience with our company has been so negative. However, you have made some principally wrong statements about our company that are simply not true.
We never force anyone to drive illegally. Period. If you are ever tired, or honestly do not feel well enough to work the whole day, then trucking is not for you. We run hard, but not illegal.
We do not want point fingers, or name names, for that will be against procedure. We keep a database of all notes, remarks, and conversation topics between the driver and the dispatcher. RoadRunner64, you were constantly late, blowing appointments, and worst of all not keeping the logbook straight. It should also be said, that the miles that you were running were legitimate through and through, yet every time you sent in your paperwork, it was rife with errors and violations. Speaking of violations how many out of services have you had?
How many times did you drive with inoperable lights? Did the dispatcher have to remind you every morning how to do the PTI? Or what about the time when you arrived at the receiver without two tires?
You have had an average of one out of service per week. You tried blaming it on the truck, or the trailer, or the combination of both. How were we supposed to fix it, if you never properly did the PTI and checked for things to fix? The majority of Road Service calls we made were to you at the location of your out of service. We told you many times to check the truck, tell us what to fix and it was always the same story, that everything was fine. Up until an out of service later the same week.
Maybe instead of whole-heartedly laying the blame on our company you should take a look at yourself. Granted, maybe some mistakes or issues are genuinely our fault, and we try to fix them, to move forward and progress. However, having you on the team was nothing short of a nightmare. Your constant out of services violations were ruining our company reputation, and we had to let you go.
Another major factor in your termination was the fact that you totaled a trailer. Not mentioning that small fact is of great convenience to you.
The 20 page agreement you mentioned is indeed only 10 pages long. When you were hired we sat down with you and explained every point. The fine list was explained thoroughly and we made sure that you understood it. At no point were you forced to sign anything you did not agree to. At one point we even made alterations to make sure that it was fair.
The claim that you were not reimbursed for toll and scale tickets is absurd. The only time that would have taken place is if you lost or did not send in the receipt for it. How could you be compensated for something that we have no record of? On a number of times we did, but once you started doing it constantly we had to not reimburse out of discipline. -
Florida Bound Thanks this. -
It still doesn't matter that he had oos or service failures, he still should get paid for his miles. While his behavioral attributes seem to indicate that he's failed to do his job correctly, it doesn't warrant non-payment. The only thing unclear I can guess is that somewhere in that 20 page contract he signed off on responsibility for damaged equipment, which is probably what PSM is withholding his pay for.
Driver to broker, it's not much different with other companies, swift required me to sign off on being liable for any damage(s)to my volvo670 and prostar I drove. Im Sure the majority of us do the same. -
#####, guys, READ what you sign. Dont complain after you sigh something , times are gone when you can trust people and sign without reading.
I work for eastern carrier where they have HUGE fines for almost everything they can fine you for. I heard some stories about other drivers screwups like getting caught with alcohol in the truck, receiving oos logbook violation 3 days in a row and other stuff and fines up to $5000. I NEVER got fined (at least not in last 2 years) because I do my job right (make $0.46 cents for every single mile I drive, on dry van). When you do your job good - they treat you good, because good driver brings a company very good money. If you dont like what you do - well, quit and work at regular job making minimum wage.
