Just curious, did you book it on CD and just forget to check the ratings?

In December their ratings were still pretty ok. Then we had a change in our company and I never noticed they didn't pay that order. I just remembered that we worked with them and things had gone well. So I booked more and more blindly. Since it's 30 day pay, it just fell through my cracks. Now we got a new accounting manager here and she is helping me crack down on our debtors. DAS is the only one that refuses to pay.
And yes, they refuse to pay. They're rude. Their bond insurance is even in the lie with them. So...all in all...horrible people. Hope they burn in hell. :dontknow:

The reason that their numbers were "OK" is because they have gone though about half a dozen name changes and until people catch on that they are not being paid it buys them another month or two, THIS, is why I am disgusted with the way CD has handled this!

I see. I had never handled a broker just blatantly refusing to pay a carrier. I have had to bill several times and be obnoxious but this sort of company should be kicked out of CD. You're right.

Have watched other companies fail over the years & centrals response is that the ratings are there to make an informed decision. Therefore they will keep collecting subscription fee's.

Though one has to wonder how long DAS (in any form) can keep going. DAS is also known to go after lease ops for damage claims one to two years later. Whether real claims or not, you know they collect on a good percentage of them as they continue to do it.

With every dispatch sheet they send a "advertisement" of being a lease operator. But as they post orders sometimes for less than 20 cpm...I wouldn't want to be a lease op for them. And my husband is looking for employment elsewhere as he doesn't want to get into car hauling, he prefers the hazmat stuff, so I just keep telling him to really look up a company before he decides.

See, the thing I would find hard about fighting these claims is that it's always terminal to terminal. You never have the customer info so you can contact customer directly or have your insurance do it. But we do their BOL and ours so I really don't see how my insurance would decide my company is liable for something that shows up after the bol is signed and sealed and sent.
We should seriously find a way to have their broker's license revoked by the DOT for good. I mean the DOT likes to crack down on us but really we have no protection. The broker needs to be held to certain levels of quality too.
No one protects the trucker. It's always protecting the public from the trucker. It's so wrong. What would they do without any truckers?

Really hope those getting burned by DAS payment wise are letting a negative rating for them on central remain. Cannot imagine any reason to remove it even if they pay you months later.
