either way lets not let this thread turn topic. leasing truck is a scam and if you sign up for one you probably arent the smartest person. not saying there arent successful stories out there but few and far between. better off trying to get a loan, or get a couple high limit credit cards and buy one yourself.

Yeah. Owning a truck is running a business. There is no way I would start a business unless I had a solid business plan, a good chunk of start up capital, and plenty of experience with a good working knowledge of the associated industry.

I would say I agree with you and I don't even have my CDL yet? I have read a lot of posts from unhappy leases.

What about $575 a week (this is including fixed costs) and you get ownership of the truck in two years, no balloon payment??

I would want to know more about the truck. Are you going to end up putting a new engine in the thing before the lease is even up? Have you run comparables through places like Truck Paper? The higher the payment the less money in your pocket.

Not all leases are scams, most fail because they didn't have a plan when they got started. Get your act together if you are going to consider a lease. I'd also suggest that you sign on to whatever company as a company driver and see what the mileage is going to be like. If they can't run you well and utilize your time when you're a company driver it's very possible they can't do it when your a LP or OO

My $480 a week truck payment is a stretch, I don't see how anyone can make payments of $575 or worse yet $1000 a week. You would have to have one whale of a rate per mile or an awful lot of miles. Either way there's no cushion for a downturn.
