I was saying it 20 years ago and I'll say it now: "Step into a truck and throw away your rights as an American citizen."

The truckers in MN are contacting their state senator. Her name is Senator Amy Klobuchar. Personally, I think that we all should contact her. This checklist is grounds for a major law suite against the state. AND to top it all off, the creator of this so called check list is selling seminars, so he stands to make money off other stated coming on board with it. We need to nip this in the butt, before it spreads.
Here is a link to her contact page. http://klobuchar.senate.gov/issues.cfminkLast edited: Apr 23, 2009

I am very happy to see "Diesel Bear" with us in this discussion about this.
My question's or question to an officer, if an officer of the law has these items in your house, such as a television, a dvd player or some kind of x-box, playstation? Just because I might have one or more of these items on my truck, does not make fatigued, if they are at an officers house, are they then fatigued? If so, should an officer be required to rest until he or she is in full capacity to perform his or her job? -
How hard is it to just not go to MN & IN? Maybe you could just drop the trailer at the state line and call the receiver to come get it.
If companies are having their drivers put out of service the loads will be late. If the loads are late the companies lose accounts with the shippers. So are the trucking companies and shippers weighing in on this? If not, they should be.KO1927 Thanks this. -

Minnesota fatigue checklist complaint?
Baack Thanks this. -
Have they been giving tickets and fines for this?? If you are in compliance with the hour-of-service regulations what basis do they have for shutting you down?
It is Minnesota. The same state that failed an otherwise perfect inspection of me and my truck for having an "obscured license plate"... IN A SNOW STORM!! -
Well, I know where I'm coming when and if it happens to me.

Now, you know that the company's response would be to tell their drivers that they can't have a TV, cell phone, computer, video game system, food, beverages, trash cans, potty bottles, trash, etc on their truck. You would be required to have your truck inspected for violations every time you drove into the yard and any violation would result in termination and your DAC report would be hit with some contrived reason why you were terminated.
What I want to know is what does having a pet on the truck have to do with being fatigued? My dog helps me sleep real nice by keeping my feet warm at night. -
Yes they would at that. I just didn't think about it that way.
No matter what, the driver is the one who catches all the crap.
