Do Not Work for Elite Express in Pennsauken, NJ

Honestly guys I've been here for 2 months now and haven't made less than $4000 a paycheck, but I run teams and run hard, they are a great company, treat us like humans and don't get pissy when we can't make a delivery on time if it's due to weather or accidents or anything we can't help, 2016 Volvo 780 and I've put some miles on it, they are really a great company to work for

 

My guess is this industry is already or soon will be treating teams as gold and solo drivers as dirt. Especially when paperless logs are mandatory.

 

They look like a pretty decent outfit. I live 10 mins away from them on the Philly side though. Are Volvos the only kinds of trucks they have??

 

It's bad enough to get paid every 2 weeks n today the direct deposit was suppose to be in AND ITS NOT!!!!!! I have things that are automatically deducted out of my account and I'm working on my 2nd bouncing fee!!!!! Then the bank wants to charge me for having things automatically deducted WITH NOT ENOUGH FUNDS TO CLEAR IT!!!!! I don't want to hear about the holiday either!!!!! My husband worked through the holiday n he's almost 3000 miles from home with no money in his pocket!!!!!!! U can bet your ### if a bill was due on Christmas the bank would be looking for it!! It's funny that u hear one excuse after another but when u owe them money they're never any shortages in accounts payable. They're right on top of charging u for insufficient funds but due to the holiday there's a delay with the direct deposits. I'm furious trying to deal with this n to top it all off, I'm calling elite to see why this is happening n get NOTHING BUT RECORDINGS N EVERYONE IS AWAY FROM THEIR DESK. THERE SHOULD BE LAWS AGAINST THIS!!!!!!!!!!! The company or bank should be held accountable with stiff/heavy fines for every time something like this happens. Who is going to pay for my bounced checks lol not them. By The time this is said and done my husband will work for an entire day just to pay all the bouncing charges!!!!!!Were is the fairness in that????? Truck drivers are very hard workers THAT GET LITTLE TO NO RESPECT NOT TO MENTION THANKLESS!! My husband was in New York last week n some dweeb rookie cop( I'm in the law enforcement field as well) pulled him in for an inspection. My husband who's PET PEEVE IS SAFETY, well this little ####### COULDN'T FIND ONE THING WRONG WITH HIS ENTIRE TRUCK N LOG BOOK. HE WAS DETAINED FOR ONE HOUR!! He had a time sensitive load to deliver. DO U KNOW WHAT HE WROTE HIM UP FOR????????? When all else failed this ####### SITED HIM FOR HIS EARBUDS THAT HE HAD ATTACHED TO HIS PHONE N IN HIS EARS!!!!!!! Hands free right!!!!! They said WRONG!! That was recently changed here in New York he said. Really!!!!!!! What's happening to this once great country???? Bottom line.....he was late for his delivery n didn't pass the safety inspection. First thing he did was buy the Bluetooth one ear apparatus that cost US $100 n then no direct deposit to boot!!!!!! I'm furious!! Ok I'm done with my rant. Thank u!!

Your husband should have saved his hundred bucks instead of buying that Bluetooth. If he had saved that hundred he wouldn't be sitting 3000 miles from home with no food money.

 

I worked for them 8 weeks NEVER got back hall pay or layover pay. If you think thay are a good trucking company go for it. I DONT WORK FOR FREE sorry.

 

Your mistake was to have automatic payments. You are too lazy to get online and pay your bills? Pay them manually and this would never happen. It's YOUR fault, not the banks or company payroll. Holidays cause delays. A fact f life. I have enough money in my account to pay all my bills even if my check is late but I still manually pay my bills online
Personally, I would never work for any company east of the Mississippi River but that is my choice and because I live on the west coast.

 

Bingo , but see because there are so many not too smart people driving trucks, these companies think they can lie at will and you have no means to tell them to F...Off and be on your merry way. I don't play games with an employer , and absolutely won't allow them to play with me. Elite the guy that hired me in straight out lied through his teeth to get me in there , he absolutely loved hiring in guys that worked for Jevic especially for several years , then also worked for New Century. He'd sell his soul to the devil to get them to come aboard... proof was that at the time he had like 14 of us New century drivers working for him , me to make 15.
But he thought by promising me a newer truck he could, 1 month later tell me I needed you to vacate so the team he just hired in can have a new 1. Then he tells me in 2012 the 2007 old tanker yanker with a small sleeper is all he had available. I told him my stuff won't even fit in that small bunk , that's it make it work for ya he said. I then said I got a better idea. Told him I'd spend the night in the new one , and by noon tomorrow , my stuff will be in a rental and I'll be gone with the wind "JUST LIKE THAT" , he looked surprised and said you'd really do that ... I laughed and said watch. Good bye.

 

I agree. If a person is that strapped for money, they should'nt be buying expensive unnecessary items.
Making a phone call can be done simple and legal...park the truck.

How did a telephone become such a huge part of some people's lives anyway?
