I rolled through a scale at 2k over gross the other day and he didn't even flinch.

This was in the boondocks in Iowa. I think the trooper was just happy I even pulled into the scale because you can blow by that scale all day because it's always just one guy there.

If anyone has been heavy it's going to be me. I have had the dubious honor of breaking a state scale and incurring tickets so high that it will take that company about 6 months to work off. It was a bad day. It wont be the first or last time I show up somewhere heavy.

I don't recall a blessed word anywhere from anyone in all my life, employers, driving records etc. about that stuff.

I once showed up on a Maryland scales known for it's overzealous enforcement at 4 am in the rain watching a big hat trooper and 20 cubs with white shirts and ties in regulation perfection fill the big window as the big hat trooper spent 5 minutes pointing out my sins as heavy as I was.

I was making decisions on starting a new life after they finish DOT'ing me out of the industry and towards Bankrupcy if they called me around back. Point point point point... ugh. They actually let me go.

Nah, you will have those for stories to tell, but not anything really serious against your future I don't think.

UNLESS you are stupid enough to test a 4 ton Iron Pipe Truss Bridge built in 1870 with a 40 ton truck.

Just for clarification. In some states an overweight ticket will be on your MVR. Some states will consider it a moving violation. Your license can even be suspended on account of too many overweight tickets in some states.

CSA and PSP, as far as I know, no longer consider the overweight classification.

Wrong on several counts. First it's the driver's responsibility to not drive overweight. Second, like toomany said, some states it does matter...

What sucks is some companies load you & they don't have a scale in the vicinity to weight it.that Pitts the driver into dodging the D.OT until you find a scale.nowdays the trucking business sets up the driver for failure on too many counts

Anyone says they don’t affect your score are sadly mistaken. Pay the ten dollars and get your PSP record, then tell everyone if overweight tickets affect your score. They absolutely do! If you’re gonna give information know what your talking about!!! New Drivers reading this... THEY DO GO ON YOUR PSP SAFTEY SCORE. CSA score is for the carriers. PSP score is for the individual driver.

Wrong about just everything you said.
    1. Overweight citations do not go on a cvsa report, and as such does not affect PSP reports or CSA scores.

    2. There is no such thing as a PSP score!

Go look at the psp sample at https://www.psp.fmcsa.dot.gov/psp/Documents/PSP_Sample_Report_.pdf
