Do Owner Ops actually take loads that are less than $3.00/mi?

I am talking about long term. A whole year. How much do you want to make for the year. When you set an amount, like $180k, how do you get to that amount? Because it is a whole year, you have to project from averages. So, you look at the averages, and determine that your average profit per mile will be $1. So, you have to drive 180k miles in the year then. But, if your average profit per mile is $1.30, you only have to drive 138k miles which is 2650 miles per week.

I understand how to calculate rate per mile, but im simply saying i dont treat every mile as the same because they arent,in my opinion... Really i am just poking holes in the rate per mile theory, because i dont think its the best way to quote a job.. But that is my own opinion.. Many people are successful with many different ways of doing business.. If it works for you thats all that matters

lol @ all the guys who got in during one of the biggest trucking booms in history and now think you need $3 a running mile long haul to turn a profit.

    Maybe don't pay 120k for a 50k truck next time? ‍
