Those stickers don't mean anything. If they want to inspect you, they will inspect you. After my inspection he asked if I wanted a sticker. I said no, good for nothing. He laughed and agreed. The two stickers I got in the past fell off pretty quick.

I think many of you may not realize but when you get a Level 1 that resets your inspection sticker and your good for another full year even though your FMCSA inspection sticker expires.

You can still get inspected all the time. My point is that every time you get inspected your truck is good for another year without a FMCSA sticker on the side.

That does not sound right. The CVSA decal and program is not related to the FMCSA requirements.
An annual inspection is required under DOT/FMCSA. A road side or fixed location inspection that meets CVSA criteria to get a decal is only valid for a maximum of 90 days.

I've had my license since 2010, never had a DOT inspection.

CVSA decals are good for 90 days, removal of corners (or not at all), in combination of color, represent the quarter/month it was issued.

A CVSA decal does not exclude a vehicle from further level 1 inspections. It does help a DOT officer determine which level of enforcement they will entertain. A good DOT officer will not want to waste his time performing a level I inspection on a clean truck.

On the flipside, there are lazy officers who may choose to perform a level I on a decaled vehicle, as the inspection will be quick and painless. What the heck, it only helps your CVSA score.

I understand that CVSA went with a different vendor to manufacture decals this year. Apparently, there were issues with the decal quality. Gears are in motion have the issue rectified.

If you are issued decals for a clean level I, ask that the application area is cleaned first (clean it yourself if need be). A good officer will make sure the application surface is clean. A lazy officer, well, you know how that goes (applies to all professions).

I came out if the Pilot in Battle Creek and saw someone hanging around the passenger side of my truck. I assumed it was my neighbour and didn't reuse until I got under the street lights that my decal was 1/2 peeled off. I assume he was trying to steal it.

I have 2 decals on my truck now because the last officer didn't peel the older one off and just stuck the new one over it. It was very cold the day they put it on and it's still holding up just fine.

    Wow, stealing a CVSA decal?

I have seen IFTA decals stolen, but that is beyond petty.

I'd never gotten a CVSA sticker until just a few days ago. Pretty exciting stuff. No in all seriousness I think that was the first time I'd been pulled in for an actual level 1. (It was in VA) I'd gotten a level 2 in PA about a year ago after they caught me with an expired IFTA sticker and I got a level 3 from NYS back in like 2012 but never got a sticker for any of those.
