Have had my truck 2 years and almost 200,000 miles.
My restriction gauge hasn't moved, neither has the gauge on the dash.
I never expected it to last this long?
Do pete 579 air filters last forever?

I do mine once a year if I’m mainly on the road but if I do more bucket work the road work I do every 6 months with the dust, I also have 2 filters though
once a year should be minimum IMO but pull it out and look at itRideandrepair and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure... I change mine every 6 months.
Rideandrepair, bzinger, Another Canadian driver and 1 other person Thank this. -
I would check all clamps and change filter.
Do you do regular oil samples?Rideandrepair, bzinger and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
Doing hopper and pneumatic work I changed mine out every 3-4 months or so. Now that I’m not in dust all the time my current filter has 130k on it.

I have a 23 579 and it just turned over 30K miles and when I get on it hard to climb a hill it will pull 15% restriction. Oil filter about the same under the same load.

China Syndrome,,,tap on the gauge. They certainly don't last forever
but if in a non-dusty environment, they could last 2 years. Many air filter covers today are just held on with clips, and easy to take a look see.
Rideandrepair Thanks this.
