You'll find bad seeds in any profession or walk of life, but I've never had an issue with how I've been treated, or my judgment of others, which is to say, I don't look down on security. It's all part of the same pie.

Security guards can look down on me all they want. When payday hits I have the last laugh

I've bumped heads with them just as we all do from time to time.

They're was one in Georgia whom I actually felt sorry for. He had to be nearly eighty, certainly no younger than seventy five. Even in the steaming heat, he had the AC turned off. I know it worked because when I checked in a few hours earlier a different guard had it going. The older gent obviously couldn't take it as many senior citizens can't.

He was so terribly debilitated with age. He could not hear me as I tried to give him the necessary information. I had to read him a sequence of six numbers three times. Holding the paper up didn't do because he could hardly see.

He reminded me of a character I read about in The Choirboys, the novel by cop turned author Joseph Wambaugh "The man was seventy five years old and didn't want to be a security guard, but if he didn't, he and his wife would have to eat cat food five days a week instead of two"

That reminds me of another, in Reading. This old coot, wrinkled with time older than Noah was coming across the major intersection that I had already taken over during my left turn. I stopped because he was walking backwards ogling a girl or something. Turned off my engine hung out the window and waited for him to walk into the tractor. The traffic stopped giving me abuse to see it play out with him.

He finally realized that death loomed over his shoulder and almost ran into the door. He bounced and then ran like a 10 year old to the curb 50 feet away yelling about how I almost killed him. We all laughed. Cranked it and took off. I never forgot that guy being able to run what with the wrinkles and all.

It depends. Truckers make $50k to $100k. Guards make $16k to $22k.

Sometimes, I think it boils down to any profession... You give somebody a position with a tiny bit of authority, and it goes straight to their head. They can't handle it like a normal person. It's all they have. It's where they go to flex their muscle after being beaten by their wife at home or whatever the underlying reason is.

Normal couples do not beat each other. I don't know why you brought that into the mix.

IN martial arts when going up against my assigned opponet sometimes I get tossed. Little thing, 9 years old and all giggly. Toss me like bad trash bag into the dumpster.

    Something to consider.

Here's my latest confirmation with security. I pulled into the TA in Atlanta on July 12. Took a parking receipt. One of those where you must spend at least twenty dollars per day. Between two restaurant meals and stuff from the store I spent nearly forty. The next morning at the gate the guard looked at my receipts and shook his head. "Not enough, you been here three days" I told him I got in the day before. He held up the parking ticket said See what that says? In ink pen it was marked 7/10/17. Wrong, I said I don't care what it reads I got in yesterday. There was no gate arm so I shoved it in gear and rolled away.
