It depends on how many miles the truck runs. In a perfect world, a well oiled team operation with experience and savvy can do those coast turns and bang out some nice $$$. But you need the perfect teamate, the right equipment and accounts and reputation with dispatch. Any variance means less miles which means less $$$. A solo driver can make decent $$$ also.

I have heard that US express hazmat teams make great money. I would think that a large carrier like that would have the right accounts and plenty of miles.

I ran a team for about 3 months back in 2005 and in those 3 months we ran 90K+ miles. Would worked very well together and we had a route that was almost the same every week. We did have a few weeks that were 7K miles. If you have the right person to team with and the right freight that is consistant then yes you can do very well.
If I was teaming again I would say that pulling a reefer would be the best bet. You can get produce from say Yuma like we use to and be out in springfield OH where we would drop at in about 30 hours. Then you can always get those high dollar pharmacutical loads that has to have somebody with the truck at all times and has to pretty much get to where its going ASAP and taking one stop for fuel thats it.

but the best (i believe) teams are husband and wife, as ALL that money goes to the same household, not 2 separate people....(houses)

I agree with the husband and wife teams being the best. If you ran and good you could do 300k+ miles a year! I see .50cpm plus all the time for teams. That's a good amount of money your making. Now being home to spend it is a different story.
