I've heard both side of it. Does anyone here actually operate one on their big truck?
The radio show dude said a while back that he tested it and got a no go.
listeners have called saying he is wrong.
What is the real deal? Snake oil too?
Do the hydrogen systems work?

my cousin is running that system on his T600 N14 cummins, he pulls a hopper all over the country. His Average mpg for every mile ran last year was 7.8 mpg. He sleeps in that truck 5 to 6 nights a week so thats counting idle time as well. I do not know the specifics on the system but i can find out. Im thinking he said he gained close to 1.5 mpg. The system was like 5800 when he bought it.

crop jockey, any info from your cousin? Which system is he using?

KR on Roaddog sez he's tested 3 different systems - no noticable improvement. Ah... $5800 is a lot of money, so I'd really want some proof before investing.

Why? It depends on how your fuel rail is laid out. What it does is tries to eliminate pressure fluctuations and pressure waves within the rail. A well laid-out fuel rail, or a system like the DD15 with a very high pressure pump won't see that improvement. Its the same sort of thing that one does when tuning a CB antenna system - at least the math works out the same.
Either way... if you don't like KR (and he's got some pretty good BS going at times) - don't believe what he did with the hydrogen systems. All I said is I'd want some pretty darn hard proof before I go laying out that kind of money for something that is quite iffy. BTW... since unburned fuel is a rather small quantity in a normally functioning engine, you're not going to see much improvement with a hydrogen or propane system.
