I'm sure most Megas do the Lease/Fleece thing with their aging trucks. But has anyone had any luck buying straight up from a Mega? Good experience or bad? Looking for ideas on where to purchase my first truck if I choose to go O/O.

I see Werner trucks for sale in Ohio right next to their terminal off of 70. R&L does it too.

My son had bought a few used trucks from WERNER when he started out on his own , then a few from PRIME , had no problems with any of them .

Knight , Celadon , SNI , JB HUNT as well as SWIFT also have their own equipment sell off departments

    xlsdraw Thanks this.

My last company would sell them in groups and usually some sucker used truck salesman would buy them to pawn off on someone else.

I remember one driver had a truck that overheated all the time. I think it had a cracked head. Instead of fixing it they put it up for sale. I come into the yard and there is the new owner he had two trucks piggybacked on the one that overheated. I felt bad for him and told him I wouldn't pull with that truck. Evidently he didn't take my advice. I left with my next load and saw him on the side of the road about 20 miles away. I told you so! :)

Melton and Maverick both keep their trucks in top shelf shape and trade them with 3-500000 miles on them. Excellent affordable starter trucks.

    Arky and paul_4lp Thank this.

Aside from gear grinding Prime trucks are too gutless to suffer drivetrain damage from abuse. :)
