Do they have to pay you for mandatory safety meetings? What about training?

Most of us are't familiar with Alberta labor laws so we aren't much help .
For what it's worth I used to work for an industrial cleaning company that only paid employees for time billable to a customer . We would meet at the company shop , have a safety meeting and load trucks with equipment needed for the job but we weren't paid until we arrived at the jobsite . After several years of this employees filed a class action suit and were paid for the safety meetings and job preperation time .

If we got called in on our off time it was an automatic 4 hours. Then if it lasted longer than that the clock was running. The company will shot themselves in the foot if they make a driver come in for free. The word will pass fast and the company will be known has the cheap company.

Last time I looked, a dime was worth (a little bit) more than a penny.:biggrin_2559:
