Just started with a new company on 10 February 2020 got first Settlement and it states 777.20 Gross and 628.19 gross but they direct deposit 588.00
When I asked they said it's because of per diem which I was never told they did, I wouldn't have 65worked for them if I knew that? Now she says my Gross was 628.19 but that's not what my Settlement states? And that 777.20 wasn't my gross even though my load pay adds up to 777.20, and that what's my Settlement says! I owed 165 for advance 150 advance plus 10 percent interest. Then I asked what was my net no answer from them yet? 14.00 detention pay plus 19.00 reimbursement. As soon as I can hide personal information I will repost Settlement maybe someone can explain it to me? I know it's only 40.00 but something ain't right?
Do they have to show per diem pay on Settlement

I'm slightly confused.
Are you mad because they didn't tax you as much as they could have?
If you grossed 777 but they deduct your daily per diem (up to $66/day) then your taxable income goes DOWN.
You still MADE $777.
You got taxed on the lower amount.
Had they not done that, your bring home pay would have been probably $30-$40 lower.
They didnt cheat you.
Since company drivers can no longer deduct Meals and Expenses for days traveled, this is how you don't get raped on your tax return.
Your advances are entire separate matter.dunchues and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
Yes, please post a copy of that statement.jammer910Z Thanks this. -
No I wonder my deposit was 588.00 not 628.19

That's a money making scheme taking advantage of their drivers, IMO. 10% across the board on a fleet of drivers? WOWDave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
Seems like that's where your problem lies.jammer910Z Thanks this. -
Not with hostility.
ASK.
Your stub has earnings of $777 and tax withholding of $195.
That's $588.
You were supposed to get, by your stub, $45.99 in reimbursements.

Your problem is likely somewhere in there. Just talk to them.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -

Am I seeing this right? Are you really getting paid 45cpm on a 1099?
If so, just wow. And some people wonder what is wrong with this industry... Well, drivers that would accept that kind of pay is the main cause.
