Actually work?? I realize this might be in the wrong section but I am curious as I have come across quite a few that let you fill out one application and it says they will send it to whatever companies you have selected from a big list.
Has anybody tried these and are they worth it??
Do those mass application sites?

Good way to apply to CRST. That's about it, in my experience...
-
Yes! You will get mass prehires back from mass companies!
-
They work if you want to hear from all of the bottom of the barrel trucking companies; CRST, USA Truck, CR England, Swift, Werner, etc. I don't think you will hear back from any "good" places that way though.
-
Can a new driver start at a "good" company though?? It seems most everyone has to start at one of those and work there way up to a "good" company.
-
Do you really want to broadcast you SS# out there to all of those people??? Do the research and look into the companies that you really want to apply for/to.

Well by "good" I'm talking about companies that actually have more positive threads on this site than negative. Companies like Schneider, Maverick, Boyd Bros., TMC, PGT, etc seem to be better than the ones I listed in my other post.

I have tried to look into lots of other companies but I can only go by which ones I can find that are looking to hire people. -
You can work for anybody you want to. Problem is most newbies just follow the herd and seem to think they have to go these companies. I think a lot of it comes from the brainwashing the recruiters do to you while you are in school. The schools get paid by these companies to let their recruiters come into the class room and talk to you. So the teachers really aren't pushing any other companies but the ones they are getting paid to. Why would you want to work for a company that has to spend millions in advertising to get YOU to work for THEM!!! Keep in mind that the harder it is to get hired on with a company than the more worth it it is to work for them. Find a company that isn't advertising and go apply there. Maybe their turnover rate is so low they don't have to advertise. Low turn over rate = happier drivers! Also, think outside the box. You don't have to necessarily haul standard freight. I have a friend who straight out of school got a job with a NASCAR team driving one of their trucks. Most people just don't think of this. They just follow the herd. The ones who think outside the box land the fun, unique, high paying jobs! Do your homework. I think that is the other problem. People are too lazy to actually dig in and do some research.
IN LIFE THE GO-GETTERS ARE THE ONES WHO ARE REWARDED.....

I actually thought of the nascar thing but I figured that was like the cream of the crop trucking driving job and you only get those if you like know somebody that works for a team.
