Do tractors bobtailing have to enter the state scales?

I accidently blew through one of the Florida Ag inspection stations when I was really new (I was empty). About 10 miles down the road I came across another one (I had switched roads, so Ag stations weren't on the same road). Anyway, I stopped and went and told officer I accidently blew through the previous one. He looked at me like, why are you telling me this, I don't care. Told me, with a tone of bewilderment and reassurance, I was fine, go ahead.

 

I think the Florida ag stations are just for agricultural products.
If its not food or forest products or animals
I don’t think you have to stop

I think that’s why they have two separate stations .
Ones a normal
Scale and the other is the ag inspection station.

 

Does that mean I also need to abide by truck speed limits in a truck oops I mean bobtail?

 

If you have a US DOT number on your truck, it doesn't matter if you're bobtailing, loaded or hauling a helium birthday balloon. You are in a cmv on duty and accountable for that vehicle. Even if you are on Personal Conveyance, you have to enter..

 

I’d say yes, cuz even if you’re mt or bontailing, they can still DOT you.

 

Absolutely. I am getting ready to bobtail into Commiefornia next week to get my overheads done. I was wondering about the scales. A quick question to Google and this thread came up. Question answered. This website (and Google) are a real Godsend for truckers.
