There’s an area near where I live where if the weather is right I can hear not one but FOUR radio stations on the same frequency. WCBM in Baltimore, WPTF in Raleigh, WINR in Binghamton, and WRKO in Boston.

I emailed WPTF one day a long time ago because I was wondering I heard them when I was looking for the Baltimore station. The station manager replied and told me about the skip and the way they try to broadcast their signal.

Google him if you want to find out his story, it's pretty bad.

Don't remember the names or particulars. Probably better off not knowing.

Everybody runs a backup radio when the traffic stops moving.

The short answer is "NO", they have lots of other distractions in the Cab now...

My advice is to keep on announcing road hazards. If everybody gives up then it's all over

I've been out with my trainer for the past week. We've used it a handful times. A few times to check into shippers and once or twice to announce a road hazard and got some responses. Occasionally I'll hear someone screaming and swearing about a four wheeler or a truck around them but not a lot of conversation.

So true. I always put it out there and sometimes I'm just listening but don't respond.
