Do trucking companies find out about all your employment history even if it's not driving job?

That's ridiculous. I'd have said thanks and hung the phone up or walked out. It's not like you're applying for under cover work for the CIA. It's just a driving job.

    born&raisedintheusa and DoubleO7 Thank this.

it just depends on if that company uses HireRight. For example, I left on bad terms with a fuel hauling company after they fired me for some stupid reasons. Their trainer was a racist maniac who would force me to drive around with his coffee cup uncovered. "If you cause me to spill any coffee, I'm going to fail you for the day," this idiot would say. Well I wasn't having it and being a defiant anarchist or whatever, I had some words with them. They slammed my DAC with all sorts of weird slanderous libelous untrue crap. I ended up disputing their accusations. They never responded, so DAC deleted that. Then I disputed the fact that I had ever worked for them. They didn't respond, and DAC deleted all record of them. I still list them and am upfront about it with employers; it's never held me back. I think a lot of safety managers will understand, that hauling fuel is very specialized and difficult when first starting ; a lot of guys don't make it. Just be upfront my man.

They won't find out if you don't tell them. However, if you leave a gap, regardless of 1 week, 1 month, 1 year, companies will question you on the gap.
You could have been in jail, in the hospital, on extended vacation etc..
They'll want to make sure that the gap isn't something that is going to interfere with your responsibilities to them.

Okay maybe I'll get bashed for this but a lot of these regurgitated scare tactics are hilarious to me.
This is not like getting a top secret clearance to work in the pentagon guys, seriously...

I've left a lot off my applications. Background check comes back spotless every time.

Proper dental hygiene, such as brushing once a day, and no stains. I chew that stuff all the time and never had a problem.
