If it is an inside job they could have put a tracker on the trailer to make it easier to find

I think this is according to the company you pull for. Husband at one company one time had a high dollar load for Target. We parked on the side road all most on top of the guard shack that night. Trucking company didn't like it that we weren't in the fenced in part, they wouldn't let you park in there.

At one of the terminals in the Chicagoland area we parked with the butt of the truck up against the building that night. The terminal was fenced in and had security, but they still were getting broke into.

The one thing you do need to notice, and that includes any type of load that may have anything of value, for a car or vehicle that seems to be following or keeping pace with you.

There was a truck in the Montgomery, AL area a few years ago, the driver was hauling an alchohol load, he stopped for his break and went to sleep. Somewhere along the line he felt the trailer jostling, it turned out someone had parked a truck behind his, and they were offloading his load. They caught one of the 3 perps.

Anything involving ORM_D is subject to police investigation. .40 rounds qualify. I have a matching set of holes from a thief in NY City that wanted to rob me. Little .25 automatic. No Match for my .44. Officially, I'm not welcome in NY. Have to go get it yous self, Texas Truckers are at the border. East coast is a funny place anyway. Guess I need a Musket.

Locks are only meant for one thing - to keep honest people honest...

Locks, alarms, etc. if what you're hauling is wanted bad enough - there isn't much one can do if actual professionals are behind the crime; except make it as difficult as possible. You can arm yourself to the teeth too - but even that is risky. You play Billy Bad ### and pull a gun on someone in your sights, and then YOU get shot in the back of the head by a co-conspirator that you never saw.

Your life isn't worth $2,000,000 in cell phones (the 2 million is a $ figure inflated for insurance reasons : ) anyway)

Hahah you carrying an AR-15? Eh, I don't blame you - be safe sir!

Heh, that's almost as scary as sleeping in a Petro next to a truck with CR England on the doors...

I hauled a high dollar load for Kodak from Needham, MA to Chicago. Undelevoped film. They took my picture at the shipper and made sure I put my meat lock on the doors before I left.
