I leave the trailer at the company lot and bobtail home.

The main reason I bought this house (in a subdivision) is there being a vacant lot across the street from my house so that my truck is a stones throw from my front door and near a streetlight.

Not being able to keep my truck safe at my home is a dealbreaker for me too...it pays for everything else so it gets taken care of.

I am home every weekend and we are required to leave our trucks at our terminal each weekend.(all of our drivers live within 50 miles). We have our own shop and have 10 FT mechanics so any issues are fixed each weekend. I do take the truck home if I get home for a night during the week.

I guess I'm lucky; my fenced backyard is large enough to park both tractor and trailer. Plus, I live in a working-class neighborhood, so the neighbors don't get all snooty about a big rig in their midst. Some of the younger kids will occasionally ask to see the inside, and I've even had a couple of them ask if they could help me wash it! I don't mind so much as it just provides an incentive for me to keep the thing clean.

Ya my neighborhood is pretty easy going. There's a couple of dirt haulers and a food service guy who live on my street. Once in awhile, they bring thier trucks trailers home for thier 10 hr break.
Only thing, the city has a posted ordinace, No commercial vehicels between 7pm -7am. I can live with that.
Just park outside the zone, if i know im gonna be later than 7pm.

Both when I was company driver, and now as O/O, I take truck and trailer home each weekend. I live in rural Iowa on a farm, so the rig gets parked next to the barn for working on it or plugging in during cold months. Even high ticket loads go to the house. If someone can get past 2 large black dogs, my 12 gauge and my 30.06, and the wife with a .45 auto, they can have the load.
