I know quickbooks used to have an area where you can do this but have not used quickbooks in awhile. Do they still take a percent out? I was looking into using Trucking Office as I like the set up on it but I am still thinking I may do everything on Quickbooks Online to make it easier come tax time. Just wondering how most of you guys do your billing. Since will be gone for up to a couple months at a time I am not sure I want checks setting in mail box all the time. How do you handle this?

I use Quickbooks Desktop. The online version is terrible.

Most brokers pay by ACH these days, so you won't need to worry about checks sitting in the mailbox.

    PE_T and Siinman Thank this.

When you sign the broker packet is that something that is added or do you put information on Invoice?

You pick ACH with broker at setup time, IF broker has that option. Not every broker do ACH. Smaller ones still send checks out (maybe they trying to gain some time and hold your money while check is sitting in your mailbox). Quick books has nothing to do with broker paying ACH or checks.

I use factoring, but before I did factoring I chose quick pay with for the ones I dealt with CH Robinson, BNSF, Coyote, Landstar, etc... all of them are 2% quick pay.. Allen Lund Company, Mercer, DART, and Convoy are FREE quick pay... ACH is routing number and account number. You don't have to do quick pay but I do... its totally up to you

To pay by ACH. You/they need
    Bank routing number/name
    Bank account number.

    Siinman Thanks this.

I understood this part. I just knew that on Quickbooks you can add it to invoices and they can click on it and pay. Didn’t know how some of the big guys work. I’ve got it figured out now. Thank you all for the help and extra information.

If you don’t mind me asking why do factoring if a lot of the brokers use the quick pay? Seems like it would be cheaper to do that?

Factoring for me is 3% and quick pay is 2%... I like my money same day... just my preference... as far as those I mentioned that offer free quick pay I don't factor those loads... You don't have to factor every load...

    Siinman Thanks this.
