The same reason that I advocate submarines not having screen doors, even though I don't use a submarine. I believe it's a good idea.

You are correct, that the HOS are the rules and E-logs are a compliance tool. E-logs in all trucks would be equal compliance, not unbalanced as it is now.

After 30 odd years, I've gotten lame and lazy. Also, old and fat and decrepit and senile. Just ask my kid, he'll tell ya!

    volvodriver01 and 7-UP Thank this.

My vote is that everyone runs paper and pen and if you are caught violating the HOS regulations then YOU GET FIRED ONE THE SPOT AND LOSE YOUR CDL. You would then be forced to find another career that requires less brain activity. This concept would solve the problems associated with logs. Do the ol one and done concept.

If you are running legal then no one shod have a problem with it. If you hate elogs then you are running hot logs. I love elogs it dose all the paper work for me

Not even close as to why I hate e-logs. The number one reason is I am an owner operator so I own my truck and should not have to purchase anything to do with E-logs. 2nd reason is they HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH SAFETY OR COMPLIANCE. These two are what the push for EOBRs are based upon. 3rd I do just fine running paper and pen. For the most part any driver that says now that they are running e-logs they don't run illegal just means because they chose to run illegal on paper that now the rest of us paper guys are getting punished for your choices. This is not pointed at you but the industry as a whole. If it came down to either everyone running E-logs or paper then I think everyone should be forced to run paper and IF A DRIVER GETS CAUGHT RUNNING ILLEGAL THEN THEY LOSE THEIR CDL AND GET FORCE OUT OF THE HIGHLY REGULATED INDUSTRY OF TRUCKING. This would also thin the herd of "steering wheel holder". It would be a win win for the whole industry.

One does not have to be running 'hot' logs to hate e-logs. Some of us just don't like to have the electronic stuff. It's basically the same as the difference between an atlas and directions vs GPS. I won't use a GPS either. Nice assumption though.

This is a very highly debated subject and I am shocked how us drivers could be so far apart on the matter.

According to your earlier postings, you don't even drive, any more, haven't for years. So please explain the relevance of your opinion, to this subject.
