Do you float gears or double clutch?

    you must drive a 318 detroit w/13over.thats what i learned on.clutch is "the start/stop pedal":yes2557:

    I have to DBL Clutch going down in my latest truck. It just doesn't like floating down.

    I float em. If I'm going downhill and need to drop I'll use the clutch. During school and your roadtest I believe you'll need to double clutch.

    double what? In driving school they got on our ### if we didnt double clutch.....but i float them all now

    I don't even use the clutch to pop out of a gear most times. Letting off of, and then tapping, the throttle will usually work to get to neutral unless you are really bogged down in a gear (which means you weren't paying attention to your rpm's to begin with).

    Hubby has found with students, that if the seat isn't adjusted right, they have more problems shifting without eating gears. Not true in all cases some are jut not caring I think.

    I can shift awesome while floating ( I learned how to drive that way)... throw the clutch in and I'm not as good LOL
