A lot would have to do with what company you hire on with .. Some are only flat some are only van some are only reefer some are a mix of all ...

Thought this was about the Truck.
Truck in most cases probaply No.

    Trailer, what he said.
You would make that decision when you pick the Company.

    warrior81 Thanks this.

Generally yes. It may vary depending on the company though. Some may start all inexperienced drivers in the van division and then allow them to transfer after a period of time.

Well it seems they all have their pros and cons :biggrin_25524: .. depending on how you look at it .. it appears most newbies start out on vans then after you get some time 6-24 months then your options appear to open up a lot more ..But I'm sure you can pretty much start off pulling any of them depending on the company and they type of freight they specialize in ..

thanks , am sure they do ..i wouldn`t like to be a flat- bedder ..with no disrespect meant ... i heard it is extra money ..but it includes a lot of work (tarping and stuff)..then again reefers includes a lot of wait time to unload at warehouses ...so i will know better what suits me ..and what i like better when time is right ..thanks again

I've not heard of a company that won't let drives transfer between divisions. Sometimes it requires additional training at the company level, such as load securement.

    Prime - flatbed & refrigerated
    Watkins & Shepard - van & flatbed
    trans-system has flatbed, refrigerated, tanker
FFE - refrigerated & tanker (FFE has a terminal in Winter Haven & Miami, mention since you live in Florida)
Swift - van, flatbed, logistics refrigerated
    Knight - van & refrigerated
    Schneider - has most everything
    Maverick - refrigerated & flatbed

    Many, many others.
