Do you guys ever block traffic from a lane that is about to end?

That's precisely when it works best. Having a SINGLE merge point is more efficient than having many.

Plus, if every one gets over a mile early, that moves the slow down point further back, which moves the merge point further back, which. . .

 

Merging messes are when I turn up my radio so I can get a laugh. Especially in OK and TX where everyone is mad about line cutting.

I hardly turn on the CB anymore. I just replay what I know I'll hear in my head. Depending on the length of the backup we go from "guess they can't read the sign" to blaming the president, usually Biden whether he's in office or not, to knocking every minority driver/flip flop wearer/foot washer/super trucker to how people need Jesus in their lives to the eventual argument between two drivers telling eachother to pull over so they can sort it out with their fists.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

 

I'm the same way... combine that with the dummies shooting skip over 19 and rambling on where u can't even talk to other drivers around you. My radio stays off most of the time anymore.

 

I don’t even have a radio. My last truck it was off most of the time so this truck I was like why even bother.

 

Every time I run into this I do. People have the "Me first mentality" and cause more issues including accidents when they run around traffic and force their way back in line.
