I guess all you guys that stay down south in the winter have some good direct customers that pay you well because that's some really cheap trucking if you're working with brokers doing it. I generally go where the money goes and don't care what the weather is like. I have seen the south be smoking hot for vans in the winter months one time the past several years. Dec thru Mar 2012-2013 was a good example of that. But more often than not that's just not the case.

Don't let rollin coal fool you, that guy loves running Florida. When the first snow flake falls, that's when you see the back of his trailer heading south.

    OP,

To tell ya the truth we get paid huge sums of money drive 300 miles take a day off. Wash our trucks shoot the breeze at the coffee counter. Doing this 4 days a week, save up all the cash we throw in our sleeper, for when we get home.
Once the temp drops or to much rain causing us to wash our chrome more than once a week. We drive to the house pull into our heated and a/c shop. Ya have to keep your truck warm and safe.
Sit in the house or goto a bar. Wait for the spring thaw and the brokers who have been blowing up our phones to haul the over paid loads on dry roads.
Turn down all these cheap freight loads . Oh. I almost forgot, we make so much we can have a service come to our trucks. You've scene the white vans driving by the railroads. The come and tarp and strap or chain our loads. They even drive our trucks to the scales to make them legal. Always nice to have some one close the dryvan doors.
Ohhhhh the life of a summer trucker......
    This life is so harsh
Here ya go even time stamped on the beach

Well, I know a lot of you guys come south for the winter. Cause, the only way I can make decent money is to run up north. #### carpet baggers!

You should see what happens in Baltimore. It's like that and worse. There is never a roll of toilet paper or loaf of bread to be found anywhere at the first mention of the "S" word.
