To become a new O/O and get a business loan and/or new equipment you need to have a business plan for the banks and/or finance companies to get a truck.

With ChatGPT today it’s much easier to create business plans than it was prior to this. I have read a lot of trucking forums and don’t see clear direction for this or folks sharing business plans. Rather than recreate the wheel, I was wondering if folks could share with me their business plan they used when they first were becoming an O/O or point me somewhere that has easily accessible ones that have already been developed.

If you have a business plan that you can share with me and don’t want to publish it here, can you PM me a copy so I can utilize it, study it, learn from it, etc…?

What advice could you give someone interested in becoming an O/O in regards to writing business plans? What have you done in the past that you found success or things to stay clear from in writing one? Has anyone used ChatGPT to write a business plan?

When I use ChatGPT and ask it if it can create a business plan to be able to become an O/O and obtain semi truck, here is what it generates initially. Once I start to get more serious about it, I can drill down into each section of the plan with the help of ChatGPT to help me create each section of it and eventually create the entire plan with its help.

You're asking ChatGPT and an online forum for advice on getting a loan for thousands, so you can become an OO.

What's the first thing you would do with a truck and trailer, right now?

Well, ChatGPT gave you a good template but it's up to you to fill in the blanks.
If you can not do that then you're not ready to secure a loan or run a business, whether it's a truck or a restaurant.

    Oxbow and chimbotano Thank this.

I had to create one for a college class once. They (peer reviewed group) couldn't wrap their brains around how trucking works, as a business.

Can i give it a try ? Ahmm load trailer with product , fill truck with diesel , drive to location safely , arrive on time , collect a money for rendered service such that will allow you to profit , continue to be reliable , gain more customers , grow business . Its basic but maybe an acceptable model .
