    my question is VERY loaded.

And this is only a small portion of why I detest EOBR's and the storyline that log departments/safety and FMCSA tell us they want them.

If drivers only knew a small portion of what is really available out of that tattle tail box, they'd flip their minds.

MNdriver, how did you get a copy of that? I am curious, I have not seen it!
I should of said in my post as well, maybe drivers can teach me a few things.
As in most people they do not lay out what all is available unless you ask for it, you don't know it's there.
Then again it could be certain companies pay for certain things to.
Our logs show the drivers city/state and how many miles they drove.
The qualcomm vehicle position does show the time/date and mph driven but it's again between two time stamps.
So I pings me @ 1830 and then it pings me again @ 1850, it shows I drove 63 mph and some tell you how many miles yhou drove in that time frame of 830 to 1850.
It could work in court, however it's not "proof" you didn't unless it's nitty gritty to the minute, which in some cases it may have pinged u every minute. I didn't think if it does that could definately be proof..

I don't mind telling because I want you to know! That will hopefully detere drivers from logging illegal which could save them time in prison.
It saves me work in the long run but mostly I don't want our driver to get a bad wrap because he didn't know or understand what could happen.

I got a letter from the Sioux City IA PD saying they tagged me doing 66 in a 55 construction zone.

I got the above screen shot from the company dispatcher. It showed the exact same time stamp AND location as the PD speed camera on I29 and I was only doing 56 MPH.

Qualcomm threatened the local TV station with a lawsuit if they published the story on how their system showed how a faulty speed camera charge over 1000 residents of Sioux City IA with a $160 speeding ticket.

I am confused, if the tv station was going to report how the state was in the wrong, why would qualcomm threaten the tv station?
Or did I read this wrong, I do that sometimes l.o.l.

We can't use qc data in all cases as I stated. Again just because it shows time/speed doesn't mean that's the speed I was going at that time, it's an average speed from the last time it pinged you until the next time it pings you. That doesn't mean I wasn't speeding at that 1 second I got caught speeding. Now those camera's, I know nothing about! I don't trust the cops radar let alone a machine!

    you read that correctly.

Qualcomm states their system does not show speed.

If it can not determine speed, then it does not track location or time. Which can be used to determine speed.

If that is the case, then you can't use it to accurately LOG where a driver does a change of duty. As it can't log time or location.

I think what they're trying to state is that their doesn't precisely calculate speed and in certain areas (lack of coverage) can inaccurately calculate speed. However it still is accurate from a logging perspective. Or something like that. The data that can be collect via reporting typically has ECM speed and GPS speed, these could vary from actual speed.

Yeah, I agree it's not 100% accurate as no gps is really accurate. It's an average.
This is why I stated it probably would not prove anything in court, however depending on the judge and how you
address it, it's possible you win out of judge not knowing any different l.o.l.

I want to know, since Qualcomm charges so much, why they are using technology from the 1980's in the MCP200? This is the most archaic POS I have ever seen. But then, it might have something to do with the archaic Windows version as the base of the the operating system. I had a Radio Shack Color Computer in the early 80's that has faster response than this thing. And the boot up time is downright criminal. Why these morons use a hard drive (that probably also is a hold over from the hard drives to the 80's) and not flash drive is questionable. And the touch screen is lousy sometimes. You can select something on it, and it will take up to 15 seconds to figure out you touched the screen and give you what you want. I have no problem with the type of programs in the system, but the hardware and the speed of which it does stuff really leaves a lot to be desired. Now I know why Qualcomm's stock does so well. They have dumped cheap, no count technology onto fleet idiots that wouldn't know a bit from a byte, and they are laughing all the way to the bank.
