Exactly. One trip through the 5 in the main for 10.

As I recall, operating it was simple. I "floated the gears" by starting in 2nd, to neutral, switch back to low for 3rd, pull stick back to neutral, switch to 4th and enter and so on to 10th. INCREDIBLY FUN!!
Only used the Clutch twice: starting and stopping.

The above system didn't work too well for a 13. I thought it was an 8 or 9 speed with overdrive from Thomasville, NC, to west side Arkansas on I-40, with some incessant "grinding" events.
A Nice Elder Gentleman driving for Cornbinder Express (I believe that's the correct name with a Blue Cornbinder Tractor and either a drop deck or step deck) showed me, on a short run a couple miles on I-40, how it REALLY worked.
After the demo I knew a 13 speed, without "grinding events".

The SUPER TEN was the best I had ever driven until the "learning curve" of the 13.

ANY MANUAL TRANSMISSION BEATS AN AUTOSHIFT, just in PLEASURE and ENJOYMENT.

Good transmission have used one for years with no problem. I have one for sale if anyone needs one. Motor went out and I got another truck.

I've driven a Super 10. Unfortunately, it had the "Top Two" option where it automatically shifted between 9th and 10th.

I think I would've preferred it over a regular 10 speed if I had been a local driver at the time.

I much prefer the Super 10 over a regular 10.

Just run it for awhile, then swap in a 13 when you're ready.

I feel like skip shifting a 13 can only be learned on a 13. Like you start with a 13 and you go “this is too many shifts” and next thing you know you are drag racing your bobtail like a 4 speed car.

    tscottme Thanks this.
