ontario doesnt enforce any ban on smoking in trucks

I haven't read all ten pages but I got the gist of the conversation. My company just updated 90% of the fleet and made them non-smoking trucks, they gave you the option of an older truck or step out of the truck when you want to smoke. Personally I think it's a good idea, they're looking at resale value of the truck, and the cleaner the truck the better the resale, just my opinion........

You can't smoke within 20-30ft of any public building. I go out of my way to ensure I'm clear of anyone's direct path. There are some cities that have a ban on smoking in public at all. I believe the socialist city of Davis is one, you can only smoke in your home, and that will more than likely change as soon as they can figure out how to do away with private property rights, which is coming, it's just a matter of time. There are other equally stringent anti-smoking laws in different cities in the bay area and some in southern California. -

The OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) ticketed a driver once. It is an Ontario regulation that one cannot smoke in a workplace. This can be upheld for the local drivers. Us OTR fellers fall under the Federal regulations when it comes to the workplace. They tend to be much more lax.
TruckrsWife and canuck in da truck Thank this. -
Back when the whole "no smoking in public buildings" came about, the great powers that be in state gooberment decided to build a smoke shack in the parking lot area. When completed, smokers were not allowed to smoke in it. Seems it was illegal to smoke in it because it was on state property, therefore "no smoking".
